I want to insert an invoice as an image and fill it out using excell so I can keep track and manipulate the information I input. The problem is that when I insert the invoice as an image I can't write on it, I write in a cell C3 but I can't see what I am writing. I need to see what I am writing because after I fill out all the information, I want to print on the real invoice just the information I wrote.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hugo

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
You can make the invoice image the background to your Excel spreadsheet.

To do this go to Format|Sheet|Background
then select the invoice image from wherever it's stored.

This will tile the invoice image all over the spreadsheet. To make it a bit easier to work with you can zoom in on one of the invoices.

To do this, highight the area of one invoice on the spreadsheet the go to View|Zoom and select "Fit Selection".

The image of the invoice will not print, just the data you put in the cells.

It works the way you say but the problem is that when I do the zoom, it zooms in the information but not the background, I mean the image does not reduce, also when I insert the image as a background it looses its original size, I mean in excel I write the name of the client; but when I print, the client's name is printed away from the space designed for it.

I got this technique to work with no problems by making a small invoice sheet in Word, then did a "Print Screen" to create a bitmap. I set the background to be this bitmap.

My only suggestion now would be to play with the size the invoice image using graphics software.

Hi --

Did i hear the magic word INVOICE???

Wonderful, i create invoices many a day to do this i have templates which have all the relevant info and print on headed paper, the template take the workload aways. Image i would do against.

I use vlookup for names address etc..
I use vlooup for product codes with dropdown listes

and financial formula - all painless. no images bar the company logo (bmp file)

Would this not be best?

Why not make the image transparent then
your cells will show up behind the image.
If the image doesn't support this the convert
it to one that does.
