How do I switch the cursor back to the arrow? What would cause my cursor to only show as a thick white "+" sign - I am not able to drag & drop etc.

Do I have a corrupt file somewhere and need to reload something?

    Thanks for your help.

Try clicking the right mouse button on the Sheet...

    And then what?

Thanks - but that doesn't do anything but take me into formatting, etc.

If the Arrow doesn't show above the Formating etc. box there is something wrong with your application. Have you tried turning it down and opening it again?

That cursor is the Excel cursor. It's not a bug or a fault in the program. It's what Microsoft says everyone should use as the cursor.

What are you trying to drag and drop? Cells?
Go to Tools|Options|Edit TAB and make sure that "Allow cell drag and drop" is selected.

The arrow does show above the dialog box, however when I get out of the dialog box back onto the sheet - the cursor returns as a thick white "+" sign.

My question is - how can I determine if something is wrong with my application or if there is a setting that I need to reset?

Thanks Mark - but it's still not allowing me to drag and drop, etc. I haven't seent this in the past few years that I've been using Excel

I do have a few add-ins installed - could those have corrupted something?

I did try take the add-ins down and restart Excel but I still end up with the same cursor.

    Thanks again

The cursor is suppose to be like that when hovering over the Sheet. If it doesn't change at all, you know, when not over the Sheet, then there's something wrong...
