Hello all,

I'm trying vainly to create a MAXIF formula (without VBA). I have a list of product codes which could have many dates for each product code. I want to look at a product code on 1 sheet and find the latest date on the other sheet e.g.

Product CallDate
336C1701WAR 1-May-01
336C1701WAR 2-May-01
336C1701WAR 4-May-01
336C1701WAR 8-May-01
336C1701WAR 9-May-01
336CA1700W38 26-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 27-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 27-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 30-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 30-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 31-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 31-Oct-00
336CA1700W38 1-Nov-00
336CA1700W38 1-Nov-00
336CA1700W38 2-Nov-00

If I have the product code 336CA1700W38 in a cell on another worksheet which formula do I need to return the latest date (in this case 2nd November 2000).

I'm crap with array formulas so thanks to anyone who can help.

Regards,
Dan.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Please ignore this post - the formula I was using was right it's just that some of the dates in my list were 0. I thought the formula wasn't working but it was just returning the earliest date it could find - in some cases 0.

Thanks anyway,

Dan.
