Ok. This one isn't mine, I was just asked to find out if it's even possible (personally, I don't think it will be, but I guess we do anything for our loved ones, don't we?)

My husband has a spreadsheet that has address info of about 7,100(+/-) companies.
Unfortunately, none of these have the zip codes.

He would like to know if there is some way to set up a macro or something to look at the cells with the city and state, determine the correct zip code and have that automatically entered into a blank cell.

Would any of you out there have any ideas other than having to go through the USPS zipcode lookup on their site?

Thanks a bunch, guys!

It may be easier to just walk you through the extraction of the data, as it takes up a 3.3 MB file. In the Speedkeys Dir. that you created (probably c:program filesSpeedkey) there is an MS Access file called ZIPCODES. If you have access, and click on that, there is a table called ZIPS.....click on that to open it up.....44,000 lines (all of the cities)....hit FILE:SAVE ASEXPORT: and choose, TO AN EXTERNAL FILEDATABASE. CHange SAVE AS TYPE from MS ACCESS to MS EXCEL and click Export
Now you have the data in Excel, where you can do a vlookup....hope this helps

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Helps? Yes and no. Yes, in that it lists the code, no in that it has the multiple ones for the cities (which I knew it would, but still...)

 I guess I'll just play around with it.

Thanks!
