Hi,

I want to create a textbox allowing users to enter a numeric value which is eight (8) characters in lenght.

Is it possible to check for both input characteristics (numeric format and lenght of 8) and if either is incorrect an error message is displayed?

Thanks in advance for all help.
Jonh

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
try
Code:
Private Sub TextBox1_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
With TextBox1
    If (Len(.Value) > 0) * (Not .Value Like "########") Then
        MsgBox "8 digits numbers only"
        Cancel = True
    End If
End With
End Sub

This might work

Code:
Private Sub TextBox1_Change()
    Static abort As Boolean
    If abort Then abort = False: Exit Sub
    With Me.TextBox1
        abort = True
        .Text = Right(Format(Val(.Text), "00000000"), 8)
    End With
End Sub
