How can I keep the value of a variable even if I close the workbook.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Sort by date Sort by votes
Some options.

Write it to the workbook somewhere.
Write it to a "slave" workbook
Write it to a text file.
Write it to the registry.

Ordered from easy to tough difficulty level...
