I am need of a way for the cells in row 1 to fill in the dates automatically backwards for 13 months. For example..
At cell N1 the user would put in a Date (3/15/02), then cells M1 backwards to A1 would then fill in the dates (M1 would equal N1 minus one month, L1 would equal N1 minus one month, etc.)
Any help would be aprrectiated please..

How about if I suggest that each Function, like every tool has it s own special use. Some tools are better suited for some tasks than others. I am sure EDATE, EOMONTH, and EDIT|FILL|SERIES|... have their own place!

Hi Dave Hawley, C O Jones, Gypo et al:
I have quoted above from my earlier post. Like Jack also said, this forum offers us such a great opportunity to learn different points of views. So, I certainly hope no one is going to take any offence on a difference of opinion.

Mind you, I am coming in after the last word on the reference issue has been said! ... may I add for now.

May we all be blessed with HAPPY EXCELING!

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Hi Yogi

There is certainly no bad feelings on my part. These forums are all about sharing a diffence of opinion. It is certainly not the first time I have had to agree to dissagree and certainly wont be the last, I hope :)

Just wanted to say thanks to Dave, Gypo and Circular Object for providing me with 10 minutes of reading entertainment

No point getting upset about it guys - there are a lot more important things in life than Excel (although I do have a certain affinity towards her (as Jack in the UK refers to it)) - beer for example...

Regards, and to those of you who are enjoying a 4 day weekend, be good!

Regards,
Dan
