What is an Euro Dollar? I believe it's just Euro, just checked my wallet .

So, What is the course of Euro in the States? Lets say that 1 Euro is 2 US dollars, then:

    =A1*2

where A1 is the Euro amount, will give you the corresponding US Dollar amount.

    technically, the rate is 1:1

A Eurodollar is the American coloquialism for the American dollar held overseas by a European bank.

Aladin, I suspect your assumptions are spot on though in terms of what the poster requires

    Still Pounds Sterling here

Dreamboat has just disturbed a sweet dream: it's

1.13766:1 (that is, from Euro to US Dollar)

Still not sent into oblivion that ?

I believe the 1:2 ratio for Euro:USDollar is a tad optimistic. I think I saw the travel agent selling 1 Euro for $0.82 this weekend.

(Edit:: I didn't fully read Chris's note before)Wasn't the Euro set out to be equivalent to the US Dollar? i.e. 1:1 ratio So whoever is >1 is winning. Of course when the British scrap the and join the then we'll maybe see a 1:2 ratio as you suggested. (Oh yeah and Sweden too, and I think Denmark was another naysayer)

    Nope....

    bit silly really

We have prosecuted shopkeepers who sell their fruit n vegetables in Lbs and Ounces rather than "Euro" Kilos AND have thrown cases out of court because the Police took the suspect's height in feet n inches rather than "Euro" metres

but we hang on to our "Pound" rather than use the Euro.

    *rolls eyes*

To add. courency is what ever we trade in bananas or slaps round the ear hole makes no odds, courency is what people trade in thats of value.. so rates vary.

USD or Euro?? or Stirling... OK us brits are stroppy and want the pound we happen to like it, Eurs .. will get there as given no choice i guess.. supposed to be better.

convertion rates are simple as Aladin posted. matter not who where why or how A currency and the rate.. forget the rest of it...

Ireland has gone Europ and added 8 pence or 12 euros pence to a plastic bag... ermm...... recycle i say....
