Hiya,
I'm pulling my hair out hair trying to get this problem fixed to no avail :(

I have 5 columns with product prices... Lets say E2 (our price) - F2, G2, H2, I2 (competitors prices)

What I want to do is if the figures in columns F,G,H or I is equal to or less than our price in column E make the figure go red.

I am able to do this for a single cell but It would take me years to format every cell individually as there are over 2000 rows. I keep getting an error when trying to select an entire column.

Please help

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Try this:

select F2, go to Format > Conditional Formatting, under Condition 1 select Formula Is, then enter =F2<=E2 in the field to the right.

Click the Format... button, select the Patterns tab, red color, OK, OK.

Now as a shortcut to copy this conditional formatting, select F2 and drag to highlight from F2 to F2000 (your competitors). With that range highlighted, click Format > Conditional Formatting, OK. Repeat for other columns.

Any help?

The above should read:

Try this:

Select F2, go to Format > Conditional Formatting, under Condition 1 select Formula Is, then enter =F2<=E2 in the field to the right.

Click the Format... button, select the Patterns tab, red color, OK, OK.

Now as a shortcut to copy this conditional formatting, select F2 and drag down to highlight from F2 to F2000. With that range highlighted, click Format > Conditional Formatting, OK. Repeat for other competitors' columns, modifying the formula accordingly.

Any help?
