Another situation arises and this time I am trying to copy and paste from another workbook ("S:\Infrastructure Section\Commercial Management\PMI and Claims\MBS-11-005a and 005b - Claims Registers Rev. 1-Infrastructure.xls") in a sheet named as "Clause 14". For easy reference lets call this as the source. This source file contains a massive amount of data which for my purpose I needed only data from a few specific columns. For easy reference the target workbooks is found in ("S:\Infrastructure Section\Commercial Management\PMI and Claims\INFRA-EOT Summary.xls") in a sheet also named as "Clause 14".

The target file is a simplified layout of the source as the source contains too much information which I don't really need. I need to extract from the source all the data if column A contain "WP2407". So all rows will column A having "2407" will be extracted to the target but only from the following columns, A to F, S, T starting from row 10 at the source to row 7 at the target. A snapshot of the target workbook is shown here

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
To me, the easiest thing to do is to simply copy the source file to the resulting file, then, delete columns F-R and all columns following T. Then, sort the first column, delete all the rows above the desired case number, then, all the rows below the desired case number. Done!
