    How to insert the sample mean symbol, so that the "bar" is centered over x?

    Code:
    "_" "Alt+Enter" "X"
    Then resize the Row height.

    Mick,
    The solution appears simple, however after typing the sequence, "_" then "Alt+Enter" then "X", am getting a very tall cell, with no content.

    At your conenience, please advise.

    Hi, Not sure what you've done, Maybe try without the Inverted commas,!!!
    Just the symbol _ then click "Alt +Enter" then the symbol X.

    Goto the menu Insert> Symbol On the Symbols tab... Select the MS Reference San Serif font From: Unicode (hex) Subset: Private Use Area
