Lets say that you have a number in A1 in Sheet2 and you want to make a cell (say, C1)in Sheet1 equal to that value:

In C1 in Sheet1 enter: =Sheet2!A1

If that worksheet is in another workbook use...

=[Book1]Sheet1!$A$1
