I have a spreadsheet recording daily stock price. I want to have a chart to reflect the price trend and I don't want to do the charting every time by hand. could anyone tell me how to automate charting with weekly or monthly data? could I use macro to draw the chart? and then weekly or monthly I could run the macro to create the chart? how?
thanks a lot.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Hi Joe

You could create a dynamic named range and then drop your data straight into this range. This way you need not keep recreating charts.

I have some samples of these great named ranges here:

I also have some examples of charts that can alter automatically by Day, Week, Month or Year here: http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/ChartTips.htm These are near the bottom under:
"Two Handy Dynamic Ranges For Charts"
