Greyed out columns and rows

Some time ago I created a spreadsheet and greyed out the areas that weren't needed. Now I need to expand the spreadsheet and use more columns. Trouble is I've forgotten how to unhide those columns. I didn't write any macros and usings the right-click unhide method is proven futile. The sheet isn't protected which is puzzling since I can't get the mouse to even highlight any of the greyed out areas.

Any suggestions would be fantastic!
thanks

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Click the header of the last visible column and drag to the right (you'll see a popup with eg 252C). Then right click and choose Unhide.

Hi,

Click the top left corner of the SS adjacent to the A and the 1 in the headers, then on any row or column header right click and hit un-hide. You may have also set the column widths so small that they are not hidden but near impossible to select, if this is the case again highlight all the cells using the previous method, right click on any header and this time try Column Width, set to 5 or 10.
