User Form Command Buttons

I have a user form to which I wish to attach 3 command buttons. I need help with all three, but each will build on the next, so I'll start with the easiest.

The Add Record button. I know how to update a sheet within the file that contains the macro, but what I want to do is update another file. Also, if for whatever reason, the macro is unable to run completely, I want the user to get and error that the "addition was unsucessful, please contact ____ if the problem persists" instead of the Debug message box.

Any ideas on code for one or both of these issues? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks :)

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
