Every evening I have to run a very tedious routine. Using some custom developed software, the routine automatically generates 2 new browser windows displaying files for each of 4 portfolios (= 8 windows). For each portfolio one window is the name of the portfolio and the other is the name followed by SUMMARY.

Generally, I manually copy the URL of the file and open it in Excel. From there, I have to copy certain data to another workbook, but that part i think I can handle. Is it possible to script something that:
(a) recognizes when the IE windows have appeared, and
(b) opens the URL in excel

Thanks in advance.

Hi
Perhaps you can bypass IE all together and do all of your work in Excel. Has browser capability.
