Help! I've got two columns of dates, the first is the registered date and the second is the admitted date. I need to find out the amount of days between them (the difference).

I've tried using the function DAYS360 but this miss calulates obviously because I need 365 days. I've also found DATEDIF but I can't figure out how to use it. HELP!

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.

Subtract the earlier date from the later...

=B2-A2

Just subtract one date from the other - make sure the formula cell is formatted as number type with no decimals.

If registered date is in A1
If Admitted date is in B1

C1=B1-A1

Make sure format is general...
