To CONCATENATE or Not to CONCATENATE

General question
Why use a CONCATENATE formula when a simple string can give you the exact same results. Are there any benfits using CONCATENATE instead of a string. Any drawbacks to either. A string seems to be a lot easier to view

=CONCATENATE(B1,C1)
=B1&C1

Just "easyness" (That's not even a word, is it ?)

Just like there exists some formulas that no one ever use (But can be very useful) like PRODUCT, EVEN, ODD, FALSE (I didn't even know there was a function for this one !), but, some users will "need" them to understand things better.
