Geting sum totals when using a filter.

Hi,
I'm aware there is a way of using sum totals when the autofilter is applied, but can't remember how to do it - can you help?

Also
the list from which the the sum total drops down a row each time a new entry is added, how can I get the sum to include the new cell from the row in the range so it calculates correctly.
