I know that if you hold the ALT key down and hit certain numbers you can come up with various characters. Does anyone know a place that has the full list w/the characters included?

This site seems to have the lot, though there are various ways of doing some of these.

    http://babel.uoregon.edu/yamada/easy_fonts.html#windows

    Usually used for Word documents

Think that you are referring to ANSI codes. Several sites provide a list. Try :

    Usually found on Start|Programs|Accessories|Character Map.

Click on whatever character you want and if it can't be done by a regular key combo, the ALT+ number will be in the bottom right corner. e.g. ALT+0128 for the new Euro symbol ().
