Wrapping text in merged cell

Excel 97 will not perform wrapping of text in merged cells. The automatic wrapping was okay in the single cell and increased the row height appropriately but when two or more cells are merged, no wrapping occurs and the row height doesn't change. I've tried reformatting to no avail.

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
It works for me. I merged the cells, then went to Format-Cells (Ctrl+1), and clicked the Wrap Text check box in the Alignment tab. Text was then wrapped.

Also ensure that you are changing the fields at the top to suit your preferences.

Horizontal to right and Vertical to Top.
