i have a spreadsheet with external links. when i open it as user 1 it asks whether i want to update. when i open as user 2, it opens trying to update the links. i can't save the worksheet with "update remote references" unchecked. any ideas on how to fix. when i replace ntuser.dat for user 1 with ntuser.dat for user 2, problem goes away. (not a valid fix for me.)

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
I fixed this by deleting the following registry keys [current user/software/microsoft/office/9.0/Excel/options "Option";"Option 5";"Option 6";"Option 95"]
Don't know why it worked, but it did.
