    I want the formula to look at a particular ship then look at if it falls within a certain date once it's done that look at two deifferent columns and whichever is greatest use that number. the two columns have more than one number so it needs to add the numbers together in each column then determine which is largest

    Does that make sense?

    My formula was for option 2, not option 1. I think Aladin's first formula will do the job.
