Paste Special Data as picture from Excel to Word/Powerpoint

I create a table in excel (97 and 2000), change font colors, select all the data, go to Powerpoint or Word and click on edit, paste special and chose picture. Then all the font colors change to black and white. This only happens on some computers (about 2 out of every 5 I test on). The paste special as picture works from word to powerpoint and from word to word and from powerpoint to powerpoint. I compared "option" settings, but am none the wiser.
