linking Multi documents

I have an Excel file that has 24 sheets with 100's of links to independent documents. The problem is I recently received a complaint from a user that one of the links was broken, this has happened in the past with users deleting the link documents but when it happens it always shows where the link points too. Now it just converts to the C: and I have no clue how to find or replace this broken link.(I didn’t create this mess)

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
