I have a long macro (too long to post) that essential just takes a spreadsheet that's about 30 colums by 500 rows, pulls out certain data, averages a few numbers, and makes it a lot easier to look at. In the middle of the macro I have a few places where i cut out columns and insert them elsewhere or just insert additional rows. Before excel does this, it sits there "calculating" for almost 30 seconds. What's it calculating (there's no formulas due to mass pastevalues) and how can i kill it?

I've tried turning off automatic calculate, but when I turn it back on, it feels like it takes as long as each individual calculate would have!

This is frustrating because I've spent days optimizing this macro and it runs really quickly now, when it's NOT calculating!

Help, please...
