Return double digit month in formula

I've been searching for the solution to this for a couple of hours now so I'm sorry if this has been asked already before. I'm sure it's a simple answer and I'm just not thinking it through.

I am using the Month() function and I want Excel to return two digits in the result, even if the month is Jan-Sept (i.e. Jan = 01 instead of Jan=1).

I want to do the same thing with Day(), but I figure the answer will be the same.

If it's just for display purpose, try using custom cell format mm

You can chain IFs, as in if(month(now)<10;0&month(now);month(now)).

Better yet, you can go with format(month(now();"00")

I have been using this for years:

if(month(now)<10;0&month(now);month(now))

Yours is much easier !
