Problem with dates in Excel

I use excel for calculating wages for a large group of people in a company. Each person has a card for tax deduction purposes and each week on the card has a date which was formatted dd/mm/yy. For no apparent reason all the dates in all the Excel workbooks have changed to mm/dd/yyyy. I recently took a Microsoft Excel test on line. Could this have caused the changes to happen? Is there an easy way to revert back to the original dd/mm/yy, without having to correct each individual sheet, as I have hundreds to undo?

Thank you for your advice on my date problem with Excel. However, if you take the Excel on line test from measureup.com and have your regional seettings to dd/mm/yy, they will change to m/dd/yyyy.
