Don't know if it's Excel or Outlook

Hi All,

I created an Excel file with address information, i.e., First Name, Last Name, Address1, etc., to use to import into an Outlook 2000 Contacts file. Everything worked fine except for the phone numbers, which appear in Outlook as -1003425322. I have formated the column in Excel as Phone Number and general and text, but they still end up in Outlook in that form....anybody else have this problem? If so, how did you solve it? TIA.

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
Pretty much: You can't really count on an Excel format being recognized in ANY other kind of file. You can use cell formatting all day to make (000) 000-0000, but other programs will really only see the 0000000000, which Outlook may be seeing as some other type of number. I'm not sure just what format you need for Outlook....sorry.
