Can't find my PERSONAL.XLS workbook

I just finished loading Excel onto my new computer, running Windows XP, and can't find my PERSONAL.XLS macro folder. The new Windows directory doesn't have a sub-folder called "Applications Data", and a search on PERSONAL.XLS in Windows Explorer turned up zilch.

Does anyone know where the XLStartup folder is on Windows XP?

No problem. I went through the same thing at first. Xp takes a little time to get used to. There is an option in XP to view your windows and menus as the "classic" windows and menus...that's what I prefer.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Gee, I wish you hadn't mentioned the "classic" windows options; I'm really tempted. But I guess if I had done that 20 years ago, I'd still be sitting in front of my IBM Selectric.

As much as I hate change, I'm gonna bite the bullet and try the new system.. Besides, I can always backtrack and take your suggestion. Sneaky me.

Aloha...

It never ceases to amaze me for how many years these posts remain useful. I couldn't find PERSONAL.XLSB on Excel 2010, and here I find the answer in a 2003 post. (You can't find it until you save a macro to it...Sheesh...Who knew?...)

Thanks!
