Hiding workbooks

I'm running Windows NT with Excel 97. Each time I open numerous workbooks, Excel keeps hiding the previously opened ones.

Any suggestions?

Not quite sure what you're saying here.

Do you want to be able to see more than one book at a time? If so, you'll see two sets of buttons in the top right corner of your screen each has Minimise, Maximise and Close.

TO see more than one open workbook at a time click on the Maximise button on the lower set of buttons. This switches from full screen view to partial view.

If your problem is that you want to move between these workbooks, click on "Window" on your toolbar and at the bottom of the menu you will see all of the names of the open workbooks. Simply click on the name of the workbook you want to see.

The problem is occurring under Window menu. For example, if 5 workbooks are open, Excel will hide 2 of them and only 3 will show up in the list. To display the remaining 2, I have to click the unhide button. It will do this automatically.

Does this help?

It's actually for a client of mine. I'll have to check with him. He mentioned that it usually does not happen right away. It will occur after he has worked on them for a while. He thought they were hidding due to the large size of the file. Have you ever heard of this occuring?
