Hello All,
I'm trying to use the "Go to Special" - Blanksfunction.
This is something I've used many times without a problem but this time it's just returning "No cells were found". I've tried the same principal on another worksheet with made up numbers and it works ok, so I know I'm using it ok. My gut feeling is that it's a formatting issue? Can anyone please help.
Using Excel 2007
Thanks Jase

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Sounds like your blanks are not truely blank.

Were they formulas returning "", that you have since done copy / paste special / values ?

If so, "" is not truely blank, it's a null text string.
Even after paste special / values.

Try highlight the column,
Click Data - Text To Columns
Click Finish

Hope that helps.

What would be your suggestion if the Text to Columns advice did not work?
I've tried cutting/pasting, (with just values), in different workbooks, on different sheets. I would say too that they are not truelly blank, but I'm out of ideas how to make this just "cut" or Past just the text (or lack of)...

Thanks!

I just found this thread, and had the same issue. After attempting to copy - paste values, I was still unable to jump the blank cells with Ctrl + down arrow.

Text to column did fix the issue however.

If you run into this problem try this:

- Select column
- Copy - paste values
- Select column
- Text to Column
- Delimited
- "Tab" box only
- Next
- Finish

After that, all my functionality was restored and could bounce and select blanks as needed.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I have the same problem in thousands of columns, how can I clear them all?
Another question, since I used to use "" in formulas to create empty cells especially in IFERROR(), what are the alternatives?
