Hi All

First time poster here, but I've gotten a lot of useful advice just from searching the boards in the past.

I have what I hope is a simple question: How do i set up code so that when I scan a barcode, rather than return that value, it searches the sheet for that value and brings me to that cell?

In fact, the BEST case scenario would be to bring me to the cell directly to the right of the value that has been scanned.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
If it is a function that you are going to perform either before or after each barcode scan, then you may want to program it directly into the scanner as a prefix or suffix.

For example, if the barcode that you would like to scan is going to be entered into the search, then you will want to program the scanner to perform a Ctrl F as a prefix. This function will happen first and then your barcode data will be placed in the Find box.
