Hi Guys,

I am getting the above error message whenever I try to open up my spreadsheet. I am using excel 2010 currently but the sheet was created in excel 2007. How can I solve this ?

I have the same problem, but cannot select "references" from the tool menu as it is greyed out, any suggestions? Thanks.

Using a mouse in Excel is the work equivalent of wearing a lanyard when you first get to college
You can't change the references if code is running (click the Stop button on the toolbar in the VB Editor) or if the project is protected.

I had this error as well because my code was secured by a password. Once I opened the code editor and unlocked, it gave me a normal error message that I could debug.

A compile error can also occur as result of 32- and 64-bit Excel conflicts (i.e. file includes macros created in Excel 32-bit, but has an error when opened by someone running 64-bit Excel)
