removing empty rows

Dumb question.....

In a workbook as displayed below, i have extracted some adresses from other loactions in the workbook.

i want to compress these adresses to a solid block (without the empty rows i mean) how do i fix this?
The empty rows may NOT be deleted!

Can you not test to see if A1 is empty, if so hide the row, and move on to test a2

I think gjadcock's solution is the neatest i.e. loop through cells in the first column setting the row height to zero if the cell is empty.

Alternatively, you could insert a row at the top and then filter the data to show Non Blanks

Select the range containing the addresses.

Press F5, Click on Special, choose Blanks

Select Format | Row | Hide
