A formula uses a named a range but it needs to be expanded. I have tried highlighting the range and renaming it but that does not work. Any ideas? Thanks

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
As the OP never thanked you for your help I will.

I know it's 10 years later but it's helped me out even now, so, Thank You :)

September 2017 and this is still helping - THANKS :)

Please note: if all the options are greyed out (un-selectable) when you open the 'Name Manager' on the Formulas tab, or use Ctrl+F3, it is because the sheet is protected. Once you un-protect the sheet you can proceed to make your changes as described above. HTH.

Well, the details have changed in this thread in the past 15 years but it is still helping! It's the formula's tab now after all. Thank you.
