read-only message... why?

I created a file with Excel 2000.
I sent it for corections to someone using excel 97(98?). Now, I get the anoying message : "xxx should be open as read only xxxx". Why? How can I avoid such message?

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Open the file as read-only. Hit File-Save as. Hit the options and remove the read-only.
