Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of reading realtime data from the Parallel or Serial ports from within Excel ?

I want to read the Parallel / Serial Port every second or so and store the value in a cell, with the next reading being stored below.

Anyone any ideas ?

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
We sell a software wedge that you can do this with for about $200. I don't like to use this for comercial purposes but it does work nice for this. Send a private message if you would be interested.

Hi Traversd,

Do a search on this site or the 'net for the MSCOMM control. This control provides the capability to read/write serial ports. It can be downloaded free from a number of sites, including microsoft.com.
