    I don't have a problem having to open each workbook as I go down to a new row!
    What I really want is to dynamically change the formula as I go.

    Throughout the masterworkbook, currently it contains the formula:
    ='C:My Project

    Hi
    Don't really understand, but I took a shot...

    Sub InsertFormula()
    Dim newProj As String
    newProj = "='C:My ProjectFilename.xls'!project_name"
    Range("C1") = newProj
    End Sub
    Tom
