i have a 10/100 network and to save it to a Network server windows 2000 it takes about 15 sec. it even take 10sec to save to my local harddrive.

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
Hey Just think,
If that's the worst problem you have today, you can call it a winner!

Joke.
What is your goal here? Reduce the file size? I have no idea what is in your file, what can be weeded out of it, formatting, and on and on...
No one will be able to help you with the minimal details you gave...
Post some more details...
Thanks,
Tom

I dont see the problem with the times given. BUT to speed this :

take recal before save off that will speed it up, especially if you have large formuals to cal, prior even if already calculated...

TIP

F9 forces excel to calculate, but some time if has done wont againt

TIP

TO FORCE excel to unconditionally re calculate try CRTL+ALT hold these down and press F9 excel will re calculate
