I know it's simple but it's been driving me nuts. I have 3 columns of start times, end times, and time difference (in the format hh:mm i.e 07:30 / 08:00 / 00:30). The time differences need adding into a seperate column, but I am encountering a bit of a snag.

When trying to add time differences of 1:30, 8:30, 12:15, 3:45 and 0:00 the answer returns as 2:00 (it is counting the minutes, and correctly adding them to 2 hours, but it is ignoring the hours).

Cheers,
Marcus

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

The cell of the formula that add times must be custom formatted as

[h]:mm
