I'm tearing my hair out!!

I am having problems grouping my data. It is in date format and therefore I want to group by month. I have done this before on other files but when I try to do it now i get the message "cannot group selected data". I have checked the formatting etc etc and I don't know where elese to go!
Can you help??

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.

You can't have any blank (empty) cells in your date column. If you do you'll have to replace them with an arbitarily high or low date value, re-create your PivotTable (your existing PivotTable will "remember" the old (blank) cells), and hide your arbitrary date value (or exclude it from your groupings).

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the data and there are no blank cells. Any other advice?

What's the Range you are using at Step 2 of 4 on the PivotTable wizard?
