Hi, I've been working with links the past few days and have been experiencing the subject error message. What do I need to do to avoid the error?

Thank you in advance...

Re: Not enough system resources to display completely&

I had a case where using a combo box, where my ListFillRange referred to a named range on a different worksheet caused this error.

By moving the named range to the same worksheet, the error went away

Thanks I had the same problem and this worked for me. I hate having to list the same data multiple places so I would like a better solution but glad to have something that works.

You don't have to. Just make sure your zoom settings are all 100%.

See my earlier post

I found the root cause of the problem. Please see the below explanation.
Definitions:
Source tab is where combobox or other control referencing.
Active tab is what you tab you see directly or under your form.

1. If source tab has 100% zoom then it does not matter what the zoom factor of active tab. No error.
2. If active tab has 100% zoom then it does not matter what the zoom factor of source tab. No error.
3. If neither of the tabs has 100% zoom then following applies.
a. If source tab zoom is equal to active tab’s then you won’t get the error.
b. Any other setting will give you error. Even if it is different by 1%.

Re: Not enough system resources to display completely&

Thanks it's very good to know this. However, the sheet I'm building is a template that is used by the whole company and I cant have a bug that pops up if people zoom in. it needs to be bullet proof for other users.

I have just fixed this problem - I had multiple combo boxes referencing tables in another tab. Simple fix, zoom level must be equal in both tabs, error goes away (i.e. set all tabs to 100% zoom).

Not sure that this will work for all causes of the error, but it worked for me.

Thanks for this great help! The microsoft support site is no longer found though.

Weird error.

Zoom level to 100% in all tabs. I never would have thought of this. Thanks so much. Worked great for me.

Re: "Not enough system resources to display completely&quot

I solved this problem in my spreadsheet by unhidding the columns and rows which I had hidden to make the worksheet easier on the eye.

I believe it had something to to with the ACTIVESHEET.USEDRANGE. If the columns AA:XDF are hidden, Excel considers this part of the used range and has to work with over 17 billion empty cells in simple operations.

I also had hidden rows with added another 20 million or so to the tally.
