Mail Merge Question

I have an excel database with data in columns for use when I open word and use mail merge. Can a small clipart or image be inserted into a cell so that is recognised like a number or text would be? At the moment if I insert a picture in to my excel database in a cell, the cell appears empty and the picture is not recognised when I do mail merge. Thanks.

I too have a similar question.

using office 08 on mac

I'd like to mail merge an exl database AND on each of the printed pieces in 1 pass through the printer on the postcard to have a small jpg image printed. This jpg will be the same image for each of the 100 pieces.
