Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
It's the lookup value. Multiplication in the lookup array results in 1 (both conditions TRUE) or 0 (one or both conditions FALSE).

I ran a Pivot table and the below is the outcome..
NumberRegion
1234Region 1
Region 2
Region 3
Region 4
Region 5
1678Region 6
8019Region 7
1987Region 8
Region 9
Region 10
Region 11
Region 12
68818Region 13
Region 14
Region 15
Region 16

<colgroup><col><col></colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

I need another column to give me the Number for all the blank cells in the number col. for ex. Region 1 to Region 5 is 1234, I want a formula to give me 1234 for Region 2, region 3. Since the file is huge it will take a lot of time to do it manually. Please let me know if i am not clear. Thanks always for your help.

Hi Andrew,

I am using index formula to pull data from one sheet to the other.
e.g. =INDEX(Sheet1!E:E, MATCH(Sheet2!G5&Sheet2!H5, Sheet1!E:E&Sheet1!P:P, 0))
Since this formula is taking a hours to calculate for 12,000 rows, is there any alternate formula to this.

Thanks,
Richa

For Example:

Apple Red2.4
BananaYellow2.5
GrapesRed2.6
Sheet 2:

<colgroup><col width="64" span="3" style="width:48pt"> </colgroup><tbody>
