Is there a way to take a cell formatted as Custom [h]:mm (which displays total time as 40:45 - hours and minutes) as 40.75 Hours (hours and percentage of hour for the remaining minutes)?

Thanks in advance.

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.

=A1*24

where A1 houses a value like 40:45.

Format the formula cell as General.
