This would all depend on the date ranges you have and how the business entity in question defines their fiscal year. Please let us know what these variables are.
There is probably a simple formula for this that I can't work out, but here it goes.
Lets say I have a worksheet with (as an example) Column A containing a list of dates spanning 3 years.(generally weekly dates)
Column B contains dollar amounts for each date listed.
What I want to do is have column C providing me with a calculation for the TOTAL dollar amount for each financial year. Of course, if it was per calandar year it would be simple to use the year function, but how do I do it based on financial year??
I look forward to being proven a simpleton on this... in other words, I would love an answer.

YOur problem can be solve by using pivotal table and then grouping on year.
I advise you to use pivotal table and take on line wizard help in forming pivotal table.
