I apologize for the elementary question I am posting, but for the life of me I can't figure out a way to get excel to strike through an entire cell. I want the strike through to be continuous, even through cells that have no text or numbers. Similar to a how I would border the cells below or above. Is there some excel trick to get this to work?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Because strikethrough is a property of the font rather than the cell, you need to completely fill the cell with either spaces or visible characters rather than empty space.

you can then specify strikethrough via Format Cells

Thanks for the response. I've figured that out as well, and although I can fill the spaces with characters to get the effect on the computer, when I print, it still shows broken lines between the cells. If a border can be made continuous, why not strike throughs?

You will always see a gap between cells with strikethrough. It's just not something Excel does.
