Hi everyone,

I've just been emailed a workbook from someone that I need to extract data from and it's obviously been Shared on their system. However, when I go to Tools>Share Workbook I cannot untick the box to removed the Shared status of the workbook (box is greyed out). Any ideas on how to sort this?

Many thanks
AJ

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
Sorry mate, don't quite get you.
What difference does it make if the file is on the desktop? The box is still greyed out when I open the file.

Have I missed the point?

It sounds like the workbook has been 'protected and shared'- try going to Tools- Protection- Unprotect Shared Workbook, you may also need a password.

If not, make sure you have checked the box to 'Allow changes by more than one user' on the 'Editing' tab of the Tools- Share Workbook dialog box.
