Hi,

Any idea why my combo box returns the row number in the cell that I have linked it to as opposed to what actually shows in the drop down bar?

Cheers

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.

That's the way the comboboxes created using View|Toolbars|Forms operate.

You can get the actual selection itself by:

=INDEX(input-range-of-the-combobox,the-cell-link-of-the-combo-box)

Aha! Cheers Aladdin... so how could I avoid this complication in the future when using combo boxes then or is there no other way around it?

Thanks

You could use View|ControlBox. But, that's no less messy.

Or, what about dropdown lists you can create with Data|Validation?
